Invitation to The International
Cockpit Club
for an Aviation (Cockpit) Rally at Manchester Airport Viewing Area from Mr Peter Hampson -
Manchester International Airport Airfield Manager.
Ladies & Gentlemen, we have been invited to take centre stage at the
first Cockpit Rally at the newly opened Aircraft Viewing Area in Manchester Airport.
I have been involved in a couple of meetings with the Airfield Manager, Mr Peter Hampson,
he has read about our club and it’s aims, and would like to promote us as much as
possible (his team of professional PR people are to publicise it).
We have been asked to choose a date between now and September which would be convenient to
the majority of us, so if you could send me dates on which you could attend, we will pick
the date on which the most cockpits are available.
The offer includes :
- Camping facilities.
- ICC Members to be ‘fed and watered’.
- A welcome pack for all members attending.
- First prize for the best ICC cockpit – flight to a European destination (to be
further specified.)
- Second & Third prize - trophy/shield.
- Generators/power supplies for those cockpits requiring them.
Please send in your interest with preferred dates (give us a
choice) as soon as possible so we can set the ball rolling.
Please Note:
- This is a weekend event.
- Nil returns are required please.
- Associate members are also welcome and will be offered welcome packs.
- This is not, repeat not in competition in any way, shape or form with the Newark
Cockpitfest, it is just another venue/stage for us to promote Aviation Preservation
Awareness.
This is a splendid opportunity to raise awareness for our hobby and to
give the aviation starved people of the North West a glimpse of what we do.
I hope that we can have a good turnout at this proposed event, as I have been advised
that, should the Rally be a success, it will be an annual feature.
